he's nothing compared to pure genius who is aizen
the sage is just good at making new jutsus and teaching people, he has knowledge but it doesn't mean he is very smart

This ^^ and where does Aizen mountain bust? He never did. And what ichigo busted was a hill, no longer then a large city block.

Taking from the scaling of ulquiorra who's Lanza was scaled at above 39 megatons which was around or bigger then las noches, and las noches was at best town sized or possibly even city sized..

His attack created a hole in a plain area, which was variable, logically it's easier to level a city then to reducing a large amount of rock formation covered and filled with mass to ruble.
