Please, the databook is halfassed and full of contradictions, made for fans pure enjoyment. I would use nothing other than the Manga to base my arguments off of. I'd even refer to the Anime before the databook.

One example that I like to use is that Kurenai and Itachi are considered equal in genjutsu if you are to follow those numbers written there. Clearly NOT the case.

Naruto could solo Tsunade with a Shadow Clone, yet, he's a Genin. And given the restrictions of the fight (No Katsuyu, no Byagokou), Tsunade isn't even on Kage level. She would be mid Jounin level at best with these restrictions. Gaara isn't the only Part 1 character that she would lose to with these restrictions, she'd lose to Guy and Kakashi aswell, possibly Gaara.

2 things:
=> Tsunade is smarter, better at Taijutsu, has more stamina, equally fast, and has a one-hit-ko that can use way more than Sasuke's Raikiri. Sasuke had only 2 shots with Chidori back then.
=> Orochimaru was testing him, and even that he fought that well and Orochimaru wasn't serious, he didn't defeat him...

Tsunade is not smarter than Sasuke. It doesn't matter what her Stamina is. This is a battle of who reacts and lands the hit first and Sasuke has that in him. It's basic logic: React and Counter.

Never once claimed that Orochimaru went all out against them. He wasn't teasing, nor was he completely serious. He had to provide enough challange for Sasuke to check his mettle. He wanted his body and Sharingan after all.
