If anything. All the shady people that had what to do with the downfall of the Uchiha clan should get just as much punishment as Sasuke if not more. The 3rd Hokage did nothing to save the Uchiha clan(Only thing I didn't like about him.)Tobirama made the Uchiha clan feel the way they did by putting them in their own little sector of the village(Another one of my favorites being a let down.) Madara messed it up for his clan though.. Him being on his own personal agenda and attacking the leaf was just too much in which activated Tobirama and his rules after his brother passed.If anything, they should look at the leaf village past before they choose to punish Sasuke. Not really his fault that he was born into a cursed clan that is run on pure emotion. I am more then sure that the village would change their views on him, Itachi and the higher ups in the village that were around at the time. I doubt he will be punished but due to him being Uchiha, he could not take the same path as Naruto.. Shame to tell the truth.
I agree with most of this. If Sasuke is to be punished, others should be punished with him. He wanted to commit genocide, so the elders should be punished for their genocide as well, since they could have just killed the guilty ones. the curse of hatred shows that all are to blame, not just one person. Sasuke should receive punishment but they should take into account he did everything because the Leaf wronged the Uchiha and that without Sasuke's decision to aid the Alliance then the Alliance would be dead.
edit: he shouldn't be punished at for Danzo. He should be awarded for that. especially considering he was on the run after mind-controlling Mifune and attempting to murder a Mist-nin.
Sasuke needs to atone for this sins and become a better person for that, not be punished into becoming a better person. this only continues the cycle of hate
