Can Pre Yami Yami No Mi Blackbeard (without any devil fruits) beat Ace. Suppose Blackbeard took on Ace without any devil fruits on Banaro Island. Who wins?

I'm going with Blackbeard. He beat Ace Low-Mid Difficulty. That too because he was fooling around, hence Ace managed to hit him with spears. Remember, he was the original choice for Second Division commander, implying he is as strong as other commanders.

That's what I think anyway. What about you guys?

There's still a lot of stuff about Blackbeard that is unknown. but I think it was prior to gaining his devil fruit that he was able to give Shanks that scar. So BB shouldn't be underestimated as he probably is a formidble fighter. Going with BB.

Do you guys really think so? Do you remember Blackbeard saying he held back against Ace by trying not to kill him in their fight as well. He almost broke Ace's neck with a single hit! I really don't see Ace winning against Blackbeard.

Oh and remember guys, although it's not explicitly stated that Ace has Armament Haki, it's not mentioned either that he doesn't. Same goes for Blackbeard. Second Division Commander of Whitebeard Pirates. Arguably one of their top five fighters. You do the math.

Blackbeard is seriously underrated he was able to give Shanks a scar and Shanks said it himself 'it's not like he wasn't being careful either'.

There's far to much we still don't know about Blackbeard also we don't know if Blackbeard has Haki or not however it can be assumed he does since he has knowledge of it and had spent a long time with Haki users and in the new world. He wanted the Yami Yami No Mi just so he could cancel out Devil fruit abilities completely.

Ace was incredibly confident due to his Logia devil fruit I'd assume even if Teach didn't have the Yami Yami No Mi he'd have a different way to fight Ace.

Teach wins high difficulty.

I don't remember since it was a long time ago, but if he did Ace wins. Otherwise BB should still be stronger considering without the fruit he is able to take double the damage and he was strong enough to almost break Ace's neck with one attack.
