Saw a thread about main characters. so I thought, why not 2nd main characters? I couldn't really think of one for Bleach, since Ishida hasn't been as important as anyone else on this list.

I haven't watched Hunter X Hunter but I really like Zoro and Sasuke, equally.

DBZ is garbage and Mikasa is probably the worst anime character of all time. (I'd also suggest Alphonse & Blackstar as good suggestions)

not as 2nd characters, simply as I like them, Vegeta is one crazy ass guy, Zoro's badassery doesn't fail and Sasuke although an awesome rival to Naruto, just isn't as outstanding for me... but I like all three's roles =D

Mikasa is a bland, one dimensional, Eren-dependant robot. She has never had a thought in the whole show which wasn't worrying about, getting angry over, thinking about or protecting Eren. It's nice to see a strong female lead to destroy the female lead shonen stereotype but she's just as bad if worse than the rest.

And...I'm not really a fan of Hunter's animation style, maybe after I finish My Little Monster & One Piece.

I see your point. But in terms of badassery and Titan killing she's awesome.

And I definitely recommend it, it's probably my favorite anime right now.

Eh I never got around to watching it and at this point it's a little too old. It's just a huge time investment. And I've heard that it drags on like crazy, like someone charging an attack for 5 episodes.
