YES if he has the knowledge about Pain. The only thing that makes Pain unbeatable is that no one knows about his secret.
REmember Sasuke is pretty sure he has a new power that can destroy Konoha.

i agree about pein being able to defeat sasuke, but i would have to kindly disagree with your logic.. because even if sasuke was capable of defeating pein, it would not mean he'd be able to defeat jiraiya.. who knows how jiraiya's style and jutsu's would fair against sasuke..

I don't think Sasuke can beat Naruto by himself anymore. He has great techniques but I think that after dealing with Pein he will be able to finally control the Nine-tails. I think he will tell the NT that he better get on board with his program or he will bring his dad back and stomp him some more. I also think that NT is ascared of the Uchihas and may throw his lot in with Naruto.
If you noticed, Naruto was controling Boss Frog when he came back from Frogland. He has great control of Sage Mode and has extended his rasengan shuriken. He has Sage Mode in reserve with his Shadow Clones. Naruto is way more formidable. He could take other Akatiski members by himself, similiar to Jiraya. He just needs more seasoning.
Sasuke took Orochimaro out while he was weakened. Itachi wanted to die, because he was eventually going to die, and he wanted to stop Madara in his mad plan. Itachi needed to strengthen Sasuke and he lost on purpose. Itachi may have been the strongest Ataski (other than maybe Sansori), and he wasn't a match for Madara.
Thinking that Sasuke is the baddest ass around is way too premature. He nearly died 2 times while fighting killer bee.

Why? bcuz defeating 6 paths is beoynd J-mans abilities. He lost to the other 5 bodies, god realm didnt even fight ;/ Now, if he even defeated those 5 bodies.. then he would die in an instant...
Now consedering that Sasuke would defeat all the 5 bodies and then kill the god realm who is much stronger than the other 5 alltogether.... Thats just immense difference in power... Thats like avrg jonin vs Sannin... no matter what abilities does jonin have, sannin still would outpwn him..

the key word is THINKS he can, Orochimaru thought he could and he was wrong, pein thought he could, and he pretty much did but he has backing to his power

J-man,orochimaru, and tsundade fought hanzo of the salamander and from the chapter it looked like he was easily fighting the three of the sannin off with relative ease, he said it was a konaha victory probabbly because most of his men died and he wasnt a heartless ******* like some leaders, but if he wanted to he could have killed the three of them
now pein defeted hanzo single handedly along with the remaining faction of the rain village, so pein is stronger than all of the sannin

sasuke-has some fire and lighting attacks that are very impressive but i thinks its safe to say that shinra tensie is the ultimate deffence (on being deffeted against a force like the 6 tails and sasuke doesnt have that kind of brute force)
genjutsu-yes sasuke wins in this slot but even if sasuke puts all 6 boddies in genjutsu there is still nagato far off in the distance

you can also add that naruto couldn't kill all the other five bodies if god realm was able to use shinra tensei from the beginning of the fight.
the 6 path formation IS the ultimate defense if the 6 of them are active and in the right positions

Yeah makes sense.
I dont think Naruto could take out even 1 body if God real was active since the beginning of the fight.
But The j-man vs pain fight... DO you remember it? Pain didnt use SHinra Tensei back then. He used only his other bodies.
And in Naruto vs God realm fight, God realm didnt use that big striped-eye technique, which appears all around the opponent as he did vs Kakashi for instance.
There are many situations which are jsut not considered my manga writers...but atm noone would defeat Pein if all bodys were active since the beginning... and god realm would shinra tensei all the bodies that are close to being hit...

Because itachi is the strongest ninja ever, notice how all the stupidly powerful ninjas die of terminal illnesses, like kimimaro and itachi, its like theyre so powerful they out-use there physical body.
Maybe thats narutos bloodline limit, his body can withstand sheer power (fox chakra etc) whereas anyone else would become ill.
Itachi had yatas mirror, sorry to keep repeating myself, but yatas mirror clearly is a defensive shield where nothing can get through it, it may have a weakness, but the real question is can you find that weakness before itachi pwns your ass??

Pains 6 bodies can see pure 360 vision, even better than byakagun, genjutsu is useless against him, and sharingan cant monitor pains moves perfectly, kakashi while only having an implanted sharingan still couldnt map pains movements well, and still wasnt fast enough to get pain....and kakashi is fast, he can just about keep up with itachi (just about, though he'd lose eventually if itachi rolled out a nice combo)
The sharingan isn't that great of a tool against rinnegan, rinnegan is the most powerful eye technique, and is it just me or is pain a pretty pathetic shell of a rinnegan user?
The sage of six paths was meant to be ownage awesome, and pains pretty pathetic in comparison (showing that the next generation doesnt beat the previous lol...considering the sage of six paths made the moon, dont know any other ninjas who can do that)
I dont hate sasuke, really at the beginning of watching the naruto anime i actually kinda preferred sasuke and when he "died" against haku i seriously considered ditching watching more because he was the only "growing" character and he "died"
He's got a little too emo for my liking now, i dont hate the guy, but its funny when he gets owned, mainly because hes such a boaster, its like when wrestlers or boxers have pre fight stuff, sasukes like that, and its very funny when he gets owned each time.

Sasukes kirin would kill the bodies because kirin moves at a VERY fast speed, i doubt the fat body pain could move in time to absorb the hit, but sasuke uses quite a bit of chakra making kirin, and its his trump move, and once an attack has been used a few times it becomes very easy to defend against because youve seen it and can formulate defence plans.
I dont feel sasukes attacks would do much against pain, the only true way to kill pain is to kill nagato, as thus pain instantly becomes an annoying enemy even if he sucks at fighting, because he can continuously revive himself.
And knowing where the body is and understanding the method of nagatos attack through chakra recievers is difficult to actually realise in the middle of an intense fight, it took some of konohas smartest to figure this out with jmans info, toads info, a pain body, and a majorly awesome brain-reader guy (inos dad?) and then having shizunes reciever info and shikamarus added strategy etc etc
so imagine sasuke on his own duking it out and having to figure this stuff out.

first he beat deidara, then had an awesome fight with itachi, then another good fight with killer bee. he didnt have that much time to rest and train. thats why naruto is stronger than sasuke at the moment. yes sasuke is not stronger than pain, but he will soon.Didnt Sasuke have near-to-death moments in almost all his fights so far? He barely defeated Deidera and he almost died against Killerbee... I don't think Pain would have such troubles with them... and I doubt Sasuke would be a match since even Itachi together with Kisame didn't attack Jiraya yet Pain killed him. But meh this'll lead to another discussion

He was in possesion of Orochimaru at that time, and because of that his wounds was already healed after he had rested.
And according to Madara, Itachi held back during their fight.
Even during his fight against Killer Bee, he got pwned real quick and depended on his friends to help him out.
Sasuke is by no means a "bad ass".
I give him credit for his fight against Deidara though.

I don't think that was the same day I remember him going to a town afterwards. heh I will go find a page number
