He, unlike most shonen protagonists, doesn't just fight for his friends, he wants to save the world. And personally, he has great speeches and is insanely awesome when serious.

Is Ichigo trying to solve the problems of the world? No. He just fights off the bad guys. Naruto has more depth of character than most of the other popular shonen protagonists. Like say Goku.

Yes I remember being a little kid reading shonen jump from the store and thinking he was very motivational, I am now 22 and I still believe so, I watched the kid grow up. To bash him is to bash the series, I like almost all the characters to different degrees.
