That is the biggest misconception in the manga, Amaterasu burns slow:
Allegedly burned Sasuke's entire body with seconds.
Obito's body was almost covered in flames within seconds:
8-Tails was almost covered in flames from one shot:
Nagato's Dog was covered in flames in a matter of seonds:
I cannot comment with Nagato and his Bird summoning, but once they were hit - Itachi and Naruto began to talk.
Zetsu's body is literally covered in flames within seconds:
They can make the flames of Amaterasu waay bigger than the average human:
Giant Fodder Juubi's body was covered in flames within seconds:
Just because it failed to engulf Fodder Samurai, Karin, and the Raikage within seconds mean nothing.
Samurai - Only their armor was burning, not the body. As you saw, Temari and Kankuro removed their armor.
Karin - Sasuke quickly removed the flames, plus her back was burnt.
Raikage - His arm wasn't burning for long. In truth, Raikage arm was only burning for a couple of seconds.
Nevertheless, it was still plot.
Amaterasu does not burn slow. I don't even know why people think this.
