I'm a 21 guy and my bestfriend is a woman. Some people will scream friendzone but good luck with that, I have a girlfriend :heh: It's just that I just finished reading a depressing thread about friendship and I wanted to tell you guys that true friendship exists (and regardless of genders) I would take a bullet for her, if I could I would shoulder all her sorrows for her. She's always there for me too, believing in me even when I don't.

So guys, give people a chance. You might meet someone wonderful but if you keep going at them with that attitude and thinking they'll backstab you, you already lost because unconsciously you are putting obstacles between you and them.

Don't be a pessimist or an optimist, be realist. Shit happens, but so does good stuff.

True friendships do exist , but are rare , true friends are with you even in the bad times & I have a couple of friends that are girls , but just regulars friends , since i don't trust women that much , i rather not have them as best friends .

I believe there's friends for everyone , if you don't have one , is probably because of one self .

I see. I have a friend both female and male and still have a girlfriend (not technically a girlfriend). Same boat, different story. It is not wanting trust from a friend. It is about the many friends you call friends which makes you paranoid. I know many people. I could decide to want to be friends with them anytime I want. However, too many friends and you eventually get caught into the drama they carry. I minimize this by keeping a close net of friends of two.

Blah, blah, blah sad story. Yes, having more friends could be beneficial in the long run, but it comes with too many consequences. I do not like taking too much risk. Lately, you will be risking your life these days in this world. I know, you risk your life everyday, but life is short. Some guy just got shot by this other guy over a pitty argument at a store next to my house. SMH

My best friend is a male, I've known him for 15 years. We live close by to each other and our families know one another too. Obviously at first my boyfriend was a bit annoyed about our relationship. But he came to see that there was no further emotional connection than friendship.
