He had Choza and Choji with him. He had to protect them by risking his life. IDK if he could've beat Devs Path at that time but remember that mechanic guy was there too so... yeah

If 4th Shinobi World War!Kakashi fought the Deva Path, sure. But at that point in time, Kakashi's usage of Kamui still seemed imperfect.

While Deva Pein was using Bansho Tenin on his raiton clone, he could have cut him in half with Raiton.. He knew Pein was a handful, he should have used the big gun

Why?
Defeating someone doesn't make you stronger than said person.

Look at Neji vs Naruto in part 1. Was Naruto stronger than Neji at that time?
Almost EVERY enemy Naruto faces is stronger than him. That's what keeps the manga interesting, obviously. It wouldn't make sense to see him fighting someone weaker.

Just like that, Kakashi was stronger than Deva Pain. But Pain had the advantage, since his abilities weren't known by Kakashi. On the other hand, Nagato probably knew Kakashi's abilities.

After all, he was an Akatsuki member. And Kakashi was part of the Konoha group hunting their members.

Plot, my friend. Kakashi fought valiantly and sacrificed himself to save someone else. Despite him dying, I was satisfied with his efforts.

You r really suggesting that Kakashi was stronger than Deva Path. The one path which fought 6-tails Naruto and destroyed the entire village in one blow.
Lets reverse the scenario, Kakashi starts kumuing Deva Path, he uses Almighty push, the entire village is destroyed and the kumui was unsuccessful. Even Deidara didn't die from Kumui. I think Kumui only works well on large bodies if the person is willingly transported or else it takes time.

Kakashi lacks stamina
and he didn't know the abilities of Deva Path that time
he's fighting while deducting his opponent's technique at the same time
that's not an easy thing to do when fighting someone who is said to never lost a battle

Neji was stronger at the time but that's not my point. Kakashi himself stated that Pein was no joke. Why waste time and chakra if you can warp up the fight with one move especially against such an opponent ? He was hiding while Pein was attracting his clone. it was the perfect opportunity to use Kamui. 0 risk and 100 accuracy

His accuracy was great. However, it still ate up a shitload of chakra.

So does Raiton Bushin, Raikiri.. He used Raikiri multiple times. And by the end of the fight he used Kamui two times while he had less than 50 per cent chakra left

Plot, my friend. Kakashi fought valiantly and sacrificed himself to save someone else. Despite him dying, I was satisfied with his efforts.

The arc was great, there is no saying otherwise. But Kakashi could have won this

Keep in mind that destroying the village and fighting the 6-tails was only possible because he used the powers of every path. Nagato's power was entirely concentrated on him.
I'm talking about Kakashi vs Deva Path WHILE the others are being used(and not fighting him).
So yeah, Kakashi is stronger than Deva Path in a way.

Not large bodies nor this whole stuff of willingly transported. Kakashi used it on a missile.
Even if the person moves, the sharingan tracks movements. It's extremely difficult to escape it.

Kakashi is a strong Ninja but one should not overrate him.
I believe all this hype about him is due to the recent manga's showing him use Kumui on large bodies. Believe me when i say, it was only to help the plot. He cant actually use Kumui to transfer a tailed beast if it doesn't want to be. If he did, it would mean he is the 3rd strongest ninja to ever live. He could one shot every ninja.

lol you are speculting. Kakashi was able to Kamui Sasuke's Susano arrows in quick succesion, it was pretty fast.. Deva Pein would have known what hit him if Kakashi had used Kamui

Who cares about using it on large things ? Most opponents aren't that large. He can use it on people and on jutsus.

By the way, Shinra tensei can't push Kamui... It's not a projectile. It's a tear in the fabric of space and time. Deva can't dodge that....

After using a Raiton clone, Kakashi said he had half his chakra left. Then he went and used a raikiri. And he used 2 Kamui after that.. He had enough chakra for that fight

He could still use almighty push to destroy a village block. Also his chakra sensing abilities are impressive, if u know what i mean. Even Kumui takes time like every Sharingan Jutsu. Sensory Ninjas have arguably been able to sense MS Techniques. Also the latest manga feats were just their for the sake of plot. If he could actually kumui atailed beast, wouldn't he be able to one shot Hashirama or even Madara.
