this is a remote possibility, but i thinks its still worth considering.
Now it has been a really long time since the time of rikudo, so long that fact became legend, legend became myth and mythbecame a fairytale. Clans were born and the sharingan evolved from the byakugan (debatable, evon though it is stated in the manga). Now i'm sure it takes a while for such an evolurion to happen. Anyway new bloodlines appeared and some old ones died. 3 shinobi wars were fought and a fourth is being waged. Bla bla bla at least a thousand years have passed since the sage of the six paths.
Yes, the fruit (some have suggested it to be the fruit of knowledge, chakra, shinigami, a giant apple {wtf??}) from the god tree should grow again. Now we all know that fruits come from flowers, and the god tree seems to have only one flower, thus the flower that shud be used to cast infinite tsukiyomi could instead wither and turn into the fruit, in which case infinite tsukiyomi would fail! But then again, its a remote possibility.
