There is no real indication for him founding uzumaki. Just theory.

I continued reading Manga 622, and on page 8, it does have an interesting comment related to Hagoromo and Uchiha being the enemies of the Senju:

On top of the Hagoromo clan, we also have the Kaguya clan. Most likely, these clans derived their names from the Sage and his mother before the tale was lost to history.

One does not simply start a clan.

That's just like saying a random Uchiha pulled together a random group of people and they became the Uchiha clan together. Doesn't work that way.

Each clans has family ties and family techniques that are passed down from one generation to the next.
