Just some stuff I want to point out about Violet. Also why she could be a part of the crew:
-Her name, occupation, and opposition to Doflamingo may be a reference to Violet Gibson, the woman who attempted to assassinate the Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.
-Her name and ability may be a reference to "ultraviolet", which is often used to see things normally invisible to the human eye.
So why is she based on a real person? Because she seemingly has an importance to the story. Most characters based on real people are important to the story. e.g. Admirals , Doflamingo , Most Supernovae , Enel.
The straw hats:
Luffy:
Zoro:
Nami:
Usopp:
Sanji:
Chopper:
Robin:
Franky:
Brook:
Basically:
Luffy = Young Oda
Nami = Cat woman
Zoro = El Zoro
Usopp = Aesop/Pinocchio
Sanji = Leonardo Dicaprio /Steve Bescumi
Chopper = Rudolph
Robin = Cindarella
Franky = Frankenstein/Ace Ventura/Popeye
Brook = A character from a very prestigious poem
Violet = Violet Gibson
As you can see they are all related (in some way) and based off of reality (in some way). Violet is the same. What's more she formed a "Bond" with Sanji.
The girls and their roles:
Violet = Spy and Dancer through the use of her devil fruit
Robin = Assassin and Archaeologist through the use of her devil fruit
Nami = Thief and Navigator
A bit of a trend now isn't there?
The lack of female crew members also makes me think her likelihood of joining is quite high , and if she and Sanji maintain the relationship they seem to have now then not only will OP be about friendship but also companionship ; hence she could be incredibly important in the story.
(She also seems to be roughly as strong as Franky,Brook and Robin and is already a wanted pirate.)

The straw hats:
Luffy:
-Based off of Oda himself. Oda as a kid had a fascination for Rubber and Beetles.
-Luffy, during the Jaya Arc, displays a fascination for Hercules and Atlas beetles to the point where he becomes distracted from everything else. Both species are highly prized in Japan and are used for fighting.

Zoro:
-Zoro is the only Straw Hat Pirate to be named after a real life pirate, this being after the Japanese pronunciation of François l'Ollonais.
-El Zoro was also a real life criminal
-El Zoro was also a real life criminal
Nami:
Her alias "Cat Burglar" refers to: a real life female burglar and Cat woman from Batman.
Usopp:
-His name comes from Uso, which means liar in Japanese, and Aesop, the author of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
-It is possible that Usopp's long nose was inspired by the fairy tale "Pinocchio", as Pinocchio was a wooden puppet whose nose grew longer whenever he told a lie.
-Usopp's personality could also come from The Adventures of Baron of Münchausen, who said he had traveled around the globe on a cannonball, a lie Usopp himself said in episode 19, though no one gave any attention.
-Usopp might be somewhat based on the Japanese mythical species tengu, who were said to have long noses and habits of tricking people. Kin'emon even referred to him as a tengu.

Sanji:
-His name (三時 san-ji?) can mean "three o'clock" or "three o'clock snack".
-He is based off of Steve Bescemi from Reservoir Dogs
-His hair style resembles that of Leonardo Dicaprios when playing the role of Romeo (a lover from a famous Shakespearean play)

Chopper:
- Chopper is seemingly based Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as Chopper not only is a reindeer, but one with an unusually colored nose. Chopper's birthday, Christmas Eve, further leads to this conclusion. A song entitled "Chopper the Blue-nosed Reindeer" has also been produced.
-Chopper's Monster Point form strongly resembles the Wendigo, a man-eating monster from Algonquin folklore. Depending on the portrayal, they are towering creatures covered in hair with a large mouth and antlers, that always appear gaunt and emaciated no matter how much they gorge themselves. They are strongly associated with winter and coldness, and even their heart is made of ice in some cases.

Robin:
-Robin's past has some similarities with fairytale character Cinderella: both were mistreated by their adoptive parents (Cinderella by her stepmother, Robin by her aunt), both were forced to do household chores and were given little food, both "adoptive parents" only cared for their own daughters, while mistreating the adopted ones and also, both Robin and Cinderella were left behind to do household chores while the rest of the family went to party (Robins aunt and uncle went to celebrate their daughter birthday and Cinderella's stepmother went with her daughters to the king's ballroom dance).
Franky:
-Franky's character might have been inspired by the character Ace Ventura, as both have a similar hairstyle (pre-timeskip), frequently wear Aloha shirts and have eccentric personalities which include a flamboyant behaviour and a certain disregard for rules.
-Franky also bears a resemblence to the American cartoon character "Popeye the Sailorman". They both share similarly large tattooed forearms, are both 34 years old (pre-timeskip), and both rely on food for immediate energy and power (spinach and cola, respectively).
-The name Cutty Flam is a reference to the sailing ships Cutty Sark and Fram.
-The nickname "Franky" is probably a reference to Frankenstein's monster, since they both are re-created humans.

Brook:
-Brook's unique laugh of "Yoho" is a stereotypical pirate line commonly found in various pirate related pop culture. It originates from “Dead Man's Chest”, the sea shanty from the book Treasure Island.
-It is possible a partial inspiration for Brook's backstory came from the poem (and song by the British metal band Iron Maiden) "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner", by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. It involves a mariner and his crew who are led out of the fog of Antarctica by an albatross, but the mariner shoots it down and curses his crew into calm waters. Through a game of dice, Death claims the lives of all his crew, but Life-in-Death claims the mariner, who is cursed to a fate worse than death by remaining on the bleak, foggy ship alongside his dead crew for ages, forced to relive all their deaths through the looks in their eyes, until finally acknowledging the beauty of life and its creatures, and released from drifting through the fog, ecstatically jumping for joy when he sees the first living people to approach and take him away, to tell his tale of warning, now a sadder but wiser man.

-All thre can fill two different roles within the crew.
-Spies, Assassins and Thieves are all stealth based.
