Whitebeard injured by Squardo's strike, made a mess of Marineford and nearly killed Akainu when Ace was out of harms way.

That would be ultra sad. Not just for Luffy missing out on seeing someone that had a great influence on him like Shanks did, but Ussopp won't be able to show his dad how far he has come either.

Plus, Lucky Roo would never get to try Sanjis cooking!

No. Shanks wouldn't be able to beat old Whitebeard, that's a fact.

WB would still win, high difficulty. Another injury and I see Shanks taking this extreme difficulty.

I homestly think Shanks (imo being the 2nd most powerful atm) would take even a "healthy" old WB, prime no, old yes

Akainu gave him a pretty tough fight, imo at the time of MF there were at least 3 ppl who could take WB: Garp, Dragon and Shanks

Sure, if we ignore the facts Shanks would be able to beat a healty WB. Similar to how Rayleigh would beat Mihawk if we ignore Mihawk's title. Whitebeard wins this fight.

He showed up and killed the dying old man, while achieving one of the strongest df.

I say it would become extreme high difficulty for even prime WB if Shanks had both arms.
