After reading this chapter, something came to mind in regard to Orochimaru's goals.

It was some kind of power that Sasuke could attain, being Orochimaru's star pupil and all [Please do not say it was Edotensei]:

I assumed this was Sage mode, since Sasuke has Jugo's dna, and his body was suitable for Sage mode. But now a new possibility comes forward.


Clearly Orochimaru knew the 10 tails war was going to come because of Obito's motives, but he didn't care about the war itself, but instead some kind of power.

Could it be that Orochimaru was interested taking the 10 tails fruit?

It does seem as if Sasuke and Jugo currently know about the fruit, as they don't seemnthat surprised at all with what's happening. It could also explain the reason why Kishimoto had Orochimaru remark on Sasuke's motives, and right after, Sasuke declares his desire to destroy the ten tails for good instead of keeping the Biju alive.

i like Orochimaru as a villian
but his power can't be enough for Current Obito or Edo Madara

he needs alot of Powerup to reach their level of strength

i think Madara will eat that fruit

If the scroll wasn't to undo Edo tensei then what else could it attain? It is wieird Suigetsu wanted Sasuke to learn the power within the scroll, for it to simply just undo edo tensei is odd; there may be more written in it that wasn't explained yet. Orochimaru eating the fruit? I doubt that, I assume he'll have Sage mode now that he has a durable body to help fight against Obito. You're right Sasuke wasn't suprised by the God Tree at all, I wonder it he really did know about it. Orochimaru waiting on Sasuke's wind to blow still intrigues me, as if Kishi is waitin for Oro to show up to let Sasuke showcase his full abilities.
