I always believed Naruto was 100% Shinto-Buddhism, but this latest chapter has an element of Christianity in it- with the creation myth and all that about some woman eating a fruit that brought sin to the world like Eve. Actually, the Rikudou Sennin being born to save the world from disaster is also like some Jesus stuff...

The concept of a tree of life has been used in science, religion, philosophy, and mythology. A tree of life is a common motif in various world theologies, mythologies, and philosophies. It alludes to the interconnection of all life on our planet and serves as a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense. The term tree of life may also be used as a synonym for sacred tree.[1]

The tree of knowledge, connecting to heaven and the underworld, and the tree of life, connecting all forms of creation, are both forms of the world tree or cosmic tree, according to the Encyclopædia Britannica,[2] and are portrayed in various religions and philosophies as the same tree.[3]

The fact that it's a woman and a power-fruit bearing tree are the only aspects about this that resemble christianity. I feel like this Is more reminiscent of The Tree of Might, if anything.

(yes, I know this tree-shit Is common)

Kishimoto uses most of the MAIN religions of Asia. Meaning Shinto/buddhism/Hinduism and so on.

It's very common, but one would be delusional not to admit that this holds no resemblance to the genesis of man in the bible's tale of Adam and Eve, and later even the bibles tale of Jesus. The sage even left disciple(sons) to carry on his teachings<----Jesus!

I'm an atheist as well, but this was actually an interesting turn in the manga.

Actually the sons parallel Cain and Abel more. They were brothers and one was favored by good over the other, and this caused one brother to attack the other out of jealousy.

Like many known writers and storybook tellers, they are often influenced by religion. Some of the stories with religious inspiration are Narnia, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Dragon ball Z, Marvel Comics, and of course, Naruto.

There are various different parallels in Naruto to Christianity, but it is mostly influenced by Hinduism, Shintoism, and Buddhism.

This isn't the first manga, anime, or game originating from japan that did not have undertones of Christianity. What can be said? Jesus is Solo king of Japanese culture. Most the the time I don't think the creators of these these stories (regardless of medium) realize what they are doing. Without know they are searching for the light that is the son of God.

Its natural to add in what one knows to the mix, cultural concepts, history..ect. When you think about it, when real shinobi were born things were very ugly and brutal for some time, which was the opposite of what they were hoping for obviously.
