Foretold that it'd happen again?
Well

Their fight was foretold long ago, and so is their next one.

Hashirama = Juubi
Madara = Rikudou.

Hashirama is the ONLY person to have gained the Mokuton kekki genkai from birth, A wood jutsu, that DRAINS CHAKRA.
Doesn't that seem a bit like the TREE that drains chakra we're seeing now?
Hashirama is just Mini Juubitree, his Mokuton grows branches/roots from the God tree.

Madara is the ONLY person other than Rikudou to attain the Rinnegan naturally.

Is this all coincidence? Someone with the God trees power and someone with Rikudou's power being rivals.

that is definitely related to the tree.

I was not going against you here; But Madara also has access to those attacks. As does Obito [He did, at least] and Yamato. But yeah, Madara was made to be a weaker version of the sage it seems. Hashirama possesses an ability very similar to that of the Shinju[?]. You could get this conclusion.

To me, it's not anything I'd honestly look too far into. But then again I am not interested in either character that much

I didn't even realize it was you I was talking to! That Avatar is awesome, second Mizukage is way underrated.

O.T, Madara/Obito getting the Mokuton wasn't really "Natural", and I guess Rikudou had some weakened Mokuton aswell ( He did get his chakra from the tree, after all.)

I don't plan on looking far into it, but I'm pretty sure it'll come up somewhere in the manga soon.
