Why do the people die (or look so creepy) after they lose their chakra then?

I think kakashi explained that for people with chakra, their chakra is connected to their life force. If you lose one, you lose both.

But for non shinobi, they just have life force, no chakra.

Is it really that hard to figure it out? People didn't need chakra to survive in the first place, only after the sage taught them how the chakra works, then they became dependant on it.

Been kinda crap seeing no significant deaths (aside from Neji and a few others) in what's supposed to be the biggest shinobi war.

I kinda liked that many shinobi died. Even though they showed only a few, I'm pretty sure that were examples and that a large part of the regular shinobi of the alliance died this chapter. It makes up for the deaths that didn't happen during Obito's four Bijuudama-attack earlier...
