Wind nature rare...

Water, Earth, Fire, Lightning, and Wind are the basic elemental natures right? Then why did Asuma say while teaching Naruto that the wind nature is the most rare out of all basic natures? I mean, u can even see wind is the least common nature shown

Its just the rarest of the basic 5. Thousands still posses it, but it is rare.

As far as the manga goes, there are only three people with Wind Nature up to now:

1. Danzou
2. Assuma
3. NAruto

Temari only summons wind with a seal on her fan. And I have never seen her create wind from her own chakra. I personally have never seen Orochimaru use wind nature. One should not confuse the snake appearance shockwave with wind element.

I also know that in the war arc, some random ninja used wind jutsu, but they were not shown, and we don't know if they used actually nature manipulation or wind summoning like Naruto or Danzou. To sum up, Wind is a really rare element.
