Telling people they're idiots isn't going to get the message across, it will only stimulate they're idiotic minds even further.

I believe most people act like morons because deep down they hate the person that was behind the mask, aka they wanted it to be someone else, someone older and more experienced because that was the impression given by Obito in order to manipulate every living thing and use it to his advantage.

In a nutshell, Obito was underestimated and people are still in denial about it. They may or may not accept how bad ass he really is, who the F cares anyway?
