not everyone can open gates, its like asking naruto to go back the time and learn sage mode, but this time without the plot no justsu... and since naruto was a team 7 kakashi is the responsible one to teach him not gai, it would be pathetic to look at kakashi if gai teachd naruto. and yeah if you wantch op and u know about cp9's yeah i think u have to surpass your human sht to get through to it... or else after your done using it your body would like a piece of junk and shit. and if naruto learend the 8 gates.. and he put some sage mode in it... dang i wonder what happened.....

Because of their super vitality, add Kurama's super regeneration and you've got someone that can live through the eighth gate.
