Sorry if this sounds dumb, but I just woke up from a long nap and this idea was fresh in my mind for some reason. Please read it though and try to understand, thanks.

Anyways, on topic now! Okay, so we know Obito helped Itachi kill off the whole Uchiha clan. Now a lot of people may question why he actually helped do it, since he really had no motive. I used to think (and still do to an extent) that he agreed to kill off the clan because he didn't care about "this world" or anybody's existence in it.

But now I figure it's a bit deeper than that and I'm going to relate it to future events. We know Obito's plan is to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi, a wide scale genjutsu that puts everyone who looks at the moon in a false reality. Now, the Sharingan is known for it's ability to see through genjutsu, and Sasuke especially prides himself on seeing through illusions.

What if Obito wanted all the Uchiha dead because he was afraid Sharingan users would be able to eventually escape?

Now, you're probably wondering why he would leave Sasuke and Itachi alive? He knew Itachi would die to Sasuke one day, and he was going to try and manipulate Sasuke while his emotions were awry, just like how Madara manipulated him. This was clearly the case, as he tried to sway Sasuke into hating Konoha and hating the ninja world right after Itachi died.

Unfortunately for Obito, Sasuke is more headstrong than he believed, and Sasuke sticks to his goals and his goals only.

Now, Obito is getting ready to cast the IT after continuous failed attempts at killing the alliance, Sasuke included. I think he's become so impatient, so he thinks he is powerful enough to keep even an EMS user in the genjutsu. I believe the IT will succeed, which brings me to my next point.

As of late, Sasuke really has been pretty useless, honestly. If the IT succeeds it would be the perfect time for him to shine. Sasuke would be the one to free everyone from the IT, and he and Naruto will defeat Obito once and for all.

You all think that may sound crazy, but think about it this way. We all know Itachi's statement about how one goes about becoming Hokage. Now, since Sasuke freed everyone from the IT and took out Obito alongside Naruto, they will now BOTH be acknowledged as heroes in the ninja world. This would make a fight for the Hokage seat make a little bit more sense.

I really didn't expect to write so much, I'll probably organize this thread more when I get on a computer so that it's not just a huge piece of text. I'll also try to make a tl;dr part since I know NB members don't like reading lol. Anyways, give me your thoughts please if you have read the whole thing.

An interesting theory here sir, you might be onto something. If the Uchiha can escape the Tsukuyomi, that would explain why Obito tried to get Sasuke on his side from the start.

Great post, sound theory, it would give some plausibility to Sasuke seeking the chair of Hokage. Bringing the Edo Hokages, bringing his allies+Orochimaru(healed Tsunade), fighting Obito, and stopping IT would lend credence to his claim for the old Konoha throne there. Id say there is about a 50% he is solely responsible for halting IT, and 50% chance he contributes greatly to its demise.

I just know it will be boring in the manga though, I can't stand alternate reality type story lines, though this will technically be a Genjutsu like in RTN.

IT seem to be the juubis technique. Not obitos. Obito is just leading the juubi to cast it.it explains.why the juubi had to surface from obito and whanot. Uchihas however may be able to break out easily, but cant stop the juubis IT unless they actually have the means to. Other than that, its just one man prison break. Goodjob tho.
