[Discussion] Could the series have been better without the Edo Hokages

Okay.... I was rewatching Naruto Part 1.... The Chunin Exams Arc Lee vs. Gaara match to be precise.... Then I fast forwaded a little and watched Naruto vs. Neji and Shikamaru vs. Temari and finally Naruto vs. Sasuke VOTE fight....

That made me think if the series could have been better without Edo Hokages..??

The survival of everybody depends on the outcome of the war.... But right now SA is just watching.... I'm sure they'll again get their moments to shine....

But just think for once.... Wouldn't it have been Epic if all the people currently facing Juubito were all of the alive Shinobi....?? I really like Shikamaru,Choji and Lee's characters.... But right now they simply are fodders.... They will do something later but they looked so promising in Part 1 and now look at them....

Even though I loved the idea of reviving the Hokages.... Sometimes it kinda feels lame to see that SA needs help from dead people to save their a$$es....

I sometimes feel that it would have been really cool to see an amazingly developed Shikamaru,Choji,Lee standing next to Naruto and Sasuke facing Juubito and Madara....

Naruto and a Shikamaru with FTG (Yeah sounds ridiculous but I'm talking about a no Edo Hokages to save their a$$es scenario) against Juubito....

Sasuke and Choji and Lee against Edo Madara.... Looks like a weird match up.... But then again they would be different if there weren't any Edo Hokages....

I'm not saying having Edo Kages is bad but just think about it....

Naruto + FTG Shikamaru (Both Fast Brains and body) + Some other Village hax Shinobi vs. Obito

Sasuke + Choji (Super Strength) + Lee (Raikage level speed or more) + Some other Village hax Shinobi vs. Madara

Bee + Some hax and knowledgeable Shinobi vs. DSM Kabuto

What do you guys say..?? Everything on the current generations shoulders.... Wouldn't have been Epic to watch..?? =D =D

I agree to some extent but without being able to see the edo hokages, so many questions would have remained unanswered in the plot. We all wanted to see how they were in battles compared to the current generation. Their hype is enough to justify their revival

this guy says it all,,,, btw i also thought same way but i think kishi made jubbi and ,, madara too powerful for SA.. so edo hokage's revival is ok

Seriously though, I liked Itachi and Sasuke interacting, Tobirama's relationship with Naruto is cool, seeing Minato proud of his son and etc, was nice. We'll probably see more of Hashirama once Tsunade returns. In other words I liked what the Edo Hokage and Edo Itachi brought to the plot. Also its a bit random for Kabuto to fight Bee and etc. don't you think? Kabuto had history with Sasuke and somewhat paralleled Itachi.

I'm satisfied with the way things are currently besides Hiruzen being completely forgotten and the Gokage being alive (At least kill some of them >_>)

meh Kishi could have done a few flashbacks about the hokages battle but it wouldn't be the same. Besides, k11 needed some more development and screen time throughout the manga to be considered a potential threat against guys like MADARA and OBITO. BTW Shikamaru with FTG sounds waaayy toooo far fetched.

Also I think that the second part of the war, that is , the Juubi thing, Madara thing was meant for the top heroes like Naruto, Killer Bee, Sasuke, the Gokages and the brains in the HQ.
The Edos need to be handled by Edos here in the second part.
SA did their job with Naruto's assistance in the first half of the war. They will play their part again when their time comes.
And I miss part I Naruto series

My main point of at the matter of edo hokages is they can't bring sense of danger.

Because they are already dead and can't give a concern to readers.

Current man fighters are zombies and 2 main characters with plot shields...what is there to worry?

I think Sasuke Rescue Team was important at the end of Part.... Having defeated Sound 5 they had shown potential to become hax.... At least I felt so.... =D =D

i think the series is better with edohokages!. why? because they are important for the plot.

how? because the moment the uchihas were said to be wiped out by Itachi,Kishi already had the edohokage paln and uchiha madara set up.

it doesnt matter how strong the K11 get. without hte villages history none of them have impact. if the edohokages were not present then the entire plot(Uchiha domination) would be meaningless. so when we see it as a matter of storytelling,pace,screenplay,characterisation the edohokages represent it perfectly and they are more worthy of watching.

Edo Minato was necessary for Full Kurama Naruto.

Tobirama, Hashirama and Hiruzen were necessary to TNJ Sasuke.

It would be cool but it wouldn't have the symbolical value that the Hokage represents.
