If deidara had knowledge of Itachi's ms abilities.. He'd never train his eyes to defeat Itachi's genjutsu.. he'd know never to look into itachi's eyes due to Tsukyomi...
Because he instead wanted to go face to face with his eyes once more.. It implies he just knows he has a higher level of sharingan, but not the full extent of its power
