The mukoton can easily merge into the environment leaving Mei vulnerable to incoming mukoton spikes from under beneath her or even better the clone can perform his water torpedo jutsu against Mei and yamato finishes up with a quick mukoton spike to the chest.

lol @ Yamato's Suiton countering Lava, which is made up of Earth and Fire Elements (Earth>Water btw) and is far hotter than any Katon would ever be. Mei's Suiton which is superior to Yamato's Suiton was

What is the Water Torpedo Jutsu? I only see 2 Suiton that Yamato used in the manga, and both of them are nigh useless in this debate for multiple reasons stated above. Attacking with Mokuton while in the radius of the mist (Where Mei will constantly be, and if she moves she can fill the area with more mist) isn't really happening as any Mokuton would be melted before it ever touched her.

Also, how are the clones even supposed to attack while merged with the ground? They'd have to come up to do so and that would result in them getting melted by Acid Mist, and Mei can even shoot some Lava or concentrated mist as insurance.

I'd give this to yamato High diff, he really can counter most things mei has.

Battlefield changing Doton and high level suiton. His doton (raising the earth) should be able to counter mei's suiton, while his mokuton Appendages, etc. could be effective in countering her lava style. Boil release is a little problem, but seeing as yamato is also a long ranged fighter and can use mokuton bushin, along with earth jutsu to change the elevation of the battlefield, he's capable of taking this match.
