Well that's only because Kamui uses a ton of chakra...Kakashi has always had problems with it due to the amount of stamina it requires.

But Sasuke's techniques don't seem to cause much exertion to him anymore, so I don't think it will make much of a difference. Besides, the cloak will only last so long.

Actually, it wasnt to serve as a shield, it was to teleport them out of the barrier. They kind of explained that the whole last half of the issue.

IMO Sasuke's opponent will be Madara, and he'll fight him with his own strength. If doesn't, then that would only hinder his character development (something which Kishi won't do).
