In my opinion, its completely stupid. Lee and Neji who have been training together for years don't have a single combination attack whilst Naruto and Sasuke have only just reunited with each other. Same for Shikamaru and Choji, why don't they have a combo attack like that?

I agree. It is stupid. If anything, the combo's should have come from Naruto and Sakura or Naruto and Sai, or Naruto Sakura and Sai. Sasuke could have used his Sharingan to keep their combo attacks in folly, but to just suddenly show up after what 3 or 4 years and have "perfect" combination chemistry with Naruto is lame. At least have the two argue mess up, blow up a few wrong targets before getting the combination down would have worked a little better.
