And I have a strong hint.
...it's the other way around. "It's HinaNaru or HinaRuto".
The only character that has been showing romantic behaviors is Hinata, plenty more times than Naruto (if he had showed any).
As for this aspect, I would remind people that you need two persons to dance a tango... Hinata is the one who have a lot of interest, this means that the correct word to refer to this Fanservice pairing is HinaNaru or HinaRuto. People who says NaruHina are convincing themselves unconsciously that Naruto feels a strong "love" for Hinata "right at this moment", being this statement false.
There are a lot of factors in both character personalities that lends me think that Naruto doesn't feel more than a brotherly friendship for Hinata, starting for...
Naruto:
- Slow to get things (he reacts damn slow).
- Inappropiate to express his personal emotions (remember the joke of Sakura being his somewhat gf? he got hit lot of times by Sakura due his inappropiate behavior).
- Naruto supposedly know about Hinata loving him, in the Pain arc she told it clearly, and Naruto was hearing each word since she was the main point of attention when she was getting stabbed, and a lot of time have passed since then, without any clear answer. The point being... Naruto didn't interpret Hinata's words as romantic, but as sisterly... sincere, but it didn't break the friendship barrier between he and Hinata.
- Naruto is a straightforward guy. If he doesn't state any romantic interest "directly" through his actions or his words, then Naruto is not being romantic. That's his way to be, and even Kurama stated it, so it's manga proof.
Hints:
Yes, there is building between these two, as well as a building between Naruto and Sakura. The love Sakura feels for Naruto is very alike the love Naruto feels for Hinata... both loves are fraternal, but not romantic, and both are pointing to friendzone.
This said... NaruHina doesn't exist. It is HinaNaru or HinaRuto. At least NaruSaku seems to be the case, it's not SakuNaru.
PS: It wouldn't surprise me if Naruto ends with Karin at this point... I personally don't care, I just know both Hinata and Sakura are bad choices because the first one is weak emotionally and the second one, well, is basically a ***** to him (no offense). What Naruto really needs is someone that supports him and not someone that depends on him.
