It has come to my amazement that people think tysukyomi or any visual sharigan genjutsu only works at close range. But that isnt the case here, when the DB saids tysukyomi is a close range tech it mean's it works best at a close range but it is not limited to that radius. Matter of fact it is manga proven that a sharigan user can catch their victim from a mid-long ranage distance.

Let me start off by saying it does not matter how far away the victim is, as long as they make eye contact the victim will fall victim to the sharigan genjutsu

Look at the distance between sasuke and deidara. Its easily mid through long range yet that moment was when sasuke put diedara in a genjutsu.

Deidara confirms this U_U

So when were discussing Itachi in VS threads his visual genjutsu tysukyomi it is not restricted to close range but rather the DB meant it works best at close range which means it requires less of a hassle to get the person into the genjutsu. I got the idea to make this thread due to owarij

That is correct.

You could have further solidified your argument by posting the scan in which the Mizukage's bodyguard hypothesizes it is Itachi creating the genjutsu [in regards to Zetsu's invasion]. He goes on to state that Itachi is the only Shinobi who could possibly subjugate a high amount of persons, especially at long range.

Close range isn't needed. So long as there is eye contact between Itachi and his opponent, the jutsu can be executed. Anyone who disagrees, is stupid.

You are speculating. Regardless all that is sure is that DB said it is close range. If you want to speculate that it means it's more effective you are free to do so. But that's speculation and canon is that it IS a close range, period.

I really dont get why people would disagree to this. :| Anyone who does is either in denial or just hates Itachi.

Or an Itachi basher. But I think the confusion comes from the databook that states that Tsukuyomi is a short-range technique
