All three doujutsu are related, and they are inherited from the So6P. However, while the Byakugan is a distinctive eye technique, the other two are in fact the same ocular jutsu. The fact that the Sharingan can eventually become the Rinnegan means that the Sharingan isn't descended from the Rinnegan, but rather that the two jutsus are one in the same.

Before encountering Nagato, the Rinnegan was thought to be only a myth. Just like the So6P, many people, including Jiraiya and Kakashi, believed that the Rinnegan didn't really exist. However, just like the MS and EMS, most Uchiha couldn't figure out the requirements for awakening the next level of Sharingan. This means that the only real distinction between the three ocular jutsus is that between the Byakugan and Sharingan.

Byakugan and Sharrigan are weak versions of the Rinnegan
The Sharrigan is closer in power but the Rinnegan is more powerful and advanced.
The byakugan is a more passive dojutsu, I would call the air palm technique as an weaker version of the Deva Path's abilities, and there chakra blocking technique as a weaker version of the chakra absorption techniques.

Actually, Kakashi explains during the fight of Hinata and Neji that the Sharingan originates from the Byakugan. ... I don't know if this is really the case but Kakashi confirms it.

Maybe the elder son had two children , one had sharingan the other had byakugan.

or maybe his eyes have some how divided from each other which lead to the foundation of sharingan and byakugan. after all the descendants of the elder son later became Uchiha and according to kakashi, hyuuga are some how related to the uchiha.

so i am certain that there is a connection between the elder son dojutsu and sharingan + byakugan.
