I honestly do not dwell on this Hidden mist non sense to be honest. The scan you showed of kakashi with his sharigan activated should not dwell away from the fact that many ninja have displayed the capabilities of fighting without seeing exactly where their opponent is and relying on their keen senses. We already witnessed during the war how shinobi were fighting in Edo Zabuza's hidden mist no jutsu disregarding the fact their was a sensor team of course but you get the point.

Regarding the scan of Zabuza getting behind a sharigan kakashi you also left out the part that he was also tricked by a zabuza's water clone no jutsu which left him vulnerable and which explains why zabuza waited so long to strike just to make sure that he was in the clear to strike down kakashi. That isnt the case here as Lady chiyo's puppets will strike on contact as soon as they see zabuza water clone or not. A basic strategy for Chiyo would be to set her puppet from behind to front leaving her sides prone but that gap can be closed by the puppets arm's acting as a shield to make her defense more stable meaning better protected from zabuza.

That Samurai Chiyo is controlling is dead. Chiyo has only shown to control victims dead or comrades voluntarily. It even says for that jutsu in the data book that Chiyo uses this tech when she is out of puppets:

This tech is not used to control live enemy targets because the user can use his strength and or jutsu to break out of the threads. Chiyo wouldn't try to attach a thread to Zabuza. Even if she did, Zabuza could probably cut them with his Kubikiribochi. If he can't, it's still very unlikely Chiyo can attach a thread on him in the mist, especially if he goes behind her, which he will.

As shown with sakura Chiyo can indeed control the living. Also quoted by wiki

Keeping that in mind Lady chiyo being such a puppeteer of her caliber will be capable of controlling zabuza once he starts to tire out from various attacks from the puppets.

The mist prep time duration taking a short while makes no difference here. Even after it activates it's visibility starts to become more and more thick. Going by that Lady chiyo logically will be capable of seeing to a certain extent to either get out of range of the mist or strike down zabuza.

Also, if the mist was that easy to intercept, Guy and Kakashi, both way faster ninja than Chiyo, couldn't and didn't even attempt to stop Zabuza from activating the mist because it's basically useless due to the speed of the technique.

Not really. As kakashi pointed out their were many Edo's with blood line limits which at that time when he said that they were basically right next to Edo zabuza when he activated the mist so rushing in to intercept the mist wouldn't be such a great idea.

You're also not considering the fact that first Chiyo needs to summon her puppets and by the time she does it definitely will be too late. You're also forgetting Zabuza is capable of using the mist with only 1 hand so even if Chiyo did get her puppets to attack Zabuza, Zabuza could guard long enough with his other hand holding his giant sword to hold her off.

]. Summoning them before the mist comes out is honestly no problem. But the thing is Zabuza wont just be holding her off but also 2 puppets. Coming in for a CQC spar would be the last thing that zabuza would want to do since the speed of lady chiyo puppets should not be overlooked he will immediately fall victim to getting sliced up by wires[

Kakashi in order to 'attack' (not defend) Zabuza required Yamanaka to use his sensing abilities to target him. Without some sort of sensing abilities, Chiyo is not attacking Zabuza in the mist.

Also here, Kakashi told the battle squadrons to group around the "sensor" ninja. So being a sensor is a huge factor and without being one of some sort, you're basically screwed.

Yeah but between Kakashi and Chiyo, Kakashi has better reflexes and is faster in general. If he could barely keep up, then Chiyo will be in an even worse condition. You can't use Minato as an example, Minato is one of the fastest ninja of all time. Chiyo hasn't shown greater speed than Kakashi.

Lady chiyo is not alone in this scenario though. By her side with her is also 2 puppets which can help her defend.

As I said before I definitely don't underestimate her and it is possible, though unlikely that she could react to Zabuza in the mist. Say she can react, Zabuza can use Water Clone feints like he did with Kakashi to catch her off guard. Kakashi couldn't even react to him. Chiyo may react to one of his first strikes and maybe counter attack, but it'll more than likely just hit a Water Clone, faking her out and giving Zabuza an opening to finish the job.

Water clone feints is indeed very possible but in no way shape or form will it leave her vulnerable when she can simply control one puppet to stay by her side while the other deals with the potential water feints from zabuza.

Glad we agreed on that. Anyways, her puppets making noise probably won't confuse Zabuza because it was noted that Zabuza could hear the slightest movement of an eye. That being said, he may be able to try to hear the heart beat of Chiyo and if he notices the two other things don't have heart beats, he will know which one to go after.

Even if he can't, as shown when up against Kakashi when Kakashi used the Water Clone Jutsu (basically a puppet in Chiyo's case) Zabuza made a Water Clone to be safe and had the clone attack Kakashi's clone. Then he attacked Kakashi's real body with his real body. So, the chances of him getting "confused" is so unlikely that it shouldn't be considered.

It's a stretch to say he can hear a heart beat don't you think? Even if he did locate chiyo lets say the puppets are covering her from front to back? Zabuza would have no way of knowing which position lady chiyo is in to my understanding as he can easily attack the puppet by accident since it will be in the way of lady chiyo. The chances of him getting confused should not be ruled out by any means. Quite similar to what I said earlier ordering one puppet to be the offensive and one to stay by her to defend with her chakra sheild[
