So Hiraishin can port for a distance after all

In this chapter, notice that the tree Obito created is at a decent distance from them. Not only that, but there are 4Bijudamas that will certainly take 4 different paths and not necessarly in their direction(Minato, Tobirama and co). Yet Tobirama thought of the possibility of warping one or 2 Bijudamas alongside Minato despite the fact they are not even close to it

Obito even thought of the possibility that Minato could be wanting to teleport everything outside. Not sure what he meant by everything(probably his tree as a whole), but he sure as hell couldn't be in contact with all those things he was referring to especially in their current situation unless they thing the Bijudamas would be charging forever...

My assumption is that with their Hiraishin Marks they could possibly have teleported two of them each towards the Ocean, or at least outside the barrier. Obviously by that they would use the Hiraiishin Kunai to throw them towards the other ones, or something like that.

However, Minato's state did not allow him to form more markings, so they'd only have the time to move one each.

I'm not asking about the purpose of Hiraishin, but the working of hiraishin. How could they teleport bijudamas in the first place with no contact at all? It's not as if the Bijudamas were at a decent distance against them, could be launched anytime soon, and couldn't even go in their direction...

Furthermore, Tobirama has no markings in the ocean so far i know

Ah, its possible its like Minatos whatchamcall it he used to teleport Kuramas bomb, maybe the marks he talked about where his Kunais and his hand seals for it. If he had both hands he could throw his Kunais and make multiple seals to teleport them.

Touching the 4JubiDama's isn't necessary at all. But of course, I was only talking about Minato's case. We still don't know if Tobirama possess the very same ability.
