[Theory] Is 'deus ex machina' needed to defeat Juubito?

Well, the title is pretty tricky for people who assumes some things as dogma, but it is pretty straightforward for those who have a very open mind.

Right at this moment, there are few 'deities' in the battlefield that seem to be undefeatable, but we already know what are the weaknesses of 'everyone'.

- Live beings can just be killed, but Juubito that is weak against Senjutsu
- Every edo is defeatable by Juubito's anti-ninjutsu, or by sealing techniques

This said (preparing armor for bashing), the apparition of the Sage or a new Rinnegan user in the battlefield (directly or indirectly) seems to be unnecessary.

At this point of the manga, I really don't care if the Sage was or was not Uzumaki, it will not really have some great impact over the plot. I don't either care if Juubito can be damaged with Senjutsu or by Natural Energy only... these are minor details that only gives a spicy taste to the series, but just that.

What I really want to know is that... is there really needed more asspulls (or more politely said, 'deus ex machina') to bring every threat to an end? Where went the 'teamwork' that Kakashi and Minato taught to their respective teams?

I know Kishimoto won't be reading this, but I wanted to make a point... I loved how Naruto ended the last Pain without using Sage Mode or Kyuubi Cloak, but with his own normal Rasengan, a proof of human potential, against someone who declared himself a 'God'.

Pain was the first character in the serie who declared himself with that title, and Obito was doing the same some chapters ago... the ultimate defeat shouldn't be done with godlike powers in my opinion, it should be done with human potential so the self called God could be bringed to earth, making of this defeat the ultimate defeat: To make clear the villiain that he is just a human.

Any thoughts?

Obito and minato are worlds apart in strength so I really don't get your point with human triumph. Naruto only came so close to defeating pain because of sage mode and the kurama's intervention. That being said if obito gets stripped of his power and defeated by a regular rasengan it will only be because of some divine intervention caused by some super powered ninja. However with the current kage comming to the battle feild along with Oro and the hokage and team kakashi on the seen I don't see any chance reason for an asspull that was not already hinted to

Yeah I've really been hoping extreme teamwork is what wins this war, but each passing chapter makes it more impossible and even worse makes the Alliance look like a joke AND dead weight.

1. Origionally teamwork pins the juubi: The thing transforms shitting on Shikaku's plan, and then blows him up.

2. Alliance now screwed: Hokage show up to save their collective asses.

3. Now Ninjutsu is useless: Only Sages can be of use

4. Obito's endgame Nuke Venasaur trees are about to end the game: Suddenly now Naruto is coming up with the strategies.



I mean as we go... the alliance is just becoming more and more useless, and is ultimately seeming to lead to a Naruto vs Obito extreme god mode power up.

Of course, friend! I love endings like those and P4 is one of my all time fav games.

However, the central theme of Naruto does not center around defying the Gods; rather, it's the bonds of friendship and unlikely alliances that help to push forward peace for a better future.

At least, that's what the war really is. Obito and Madara represent obstacles to this goal; opposites, people influenced by hatred and intoxicated with power.

And that's why I believe the end of the series should be made with everyone's effort. Shikamaru already hinted that even with their little power they could do something... I'm really looking forward a big end with a great scale teamwork (and I'm not talking about a shitty plan).

Shikamaru still has that hope, and Kishimoto is the kind of guy which hints can't be taken lightly (because when they are forgotten, people call Kishimoto's actions 'asspulls' too).
