Kakashi didn't stab Obito here:
If you pay close attention, you will realize that Kakashi didn't move an inch, he is in the same standing position he was, except, he is not leaning forward anymore.......
That is because Obito is the one who stands up and lets the Raikiri pierce his chest. This is proven because Obito was in the sitting position, he is shown standing up on the second page.
And if you look at the last panel of the first image, you will notice that Obito is the one that instigates and Kakshi is the one who is shocked.
Why did Obito do this?
To prove a couple of points:
1. In a war, there is no holding back, no attachment or compassion towards your enemy. Kakashi stopped short of stabbing Obito because he still had hope for him, and because they were once comrades.
Obito pierces himself to prove all of that wrong, there is no friendship, no attachment. In a war, there is no mercy.
2. The second thing Obito wanted to prove was this:
He is an empty shell. There are no feelings left in him.
He is a lost cause just like the world he hates.
There can be no hope for him or the Shinobi world.
