He said that one day Obito would have to repay him and that was through casting Rinne Tensei. But doesn't that mean that he never expected Nagato to be the one to revive him? How would he have known that Nagato would betray him and Obito wouldn't have revived him?

When did he say that? I forget when, but if he said that now during the war, then he meant that Obito still owes him a debt, a debt that will be repaid by casting the Rinne Tensei on him.

i think he was planing on using obito to manipulate nagato since he was going to die soon and in order to do that he needed to manipulate obito which is why he set up Rin's death(opinion not a fact) but in order to use nagato he would need a person that knows the pain of losing a loved one that's why he gave nagato his eyes in the first place because of the war at the time and the village being destroyed but it kinda back fired on obito seeing how the whole thing turned out

He actually thought that "nagato brat" will do the bidding. But things didn't go as planned.
And now Obito clearly showed Madara he wouldn't revive him "I never meant to be your friend"
So Madara knows nothing is going to work. Except if he actually planned even way ahead. That's a jutsu, not rinne tensei. But something better. "Who knows"

No, just a change in the original plan and speeding up those plans. Since Obito change the plans, Obito was left to sacrifice himself in Nagato's place. Obito knew of this. Madara did not care less of it. However, when the direction of Madara's focus became not of the Moon Eye's Plan, it force Obito to take charge and becomes the Juubi's Jincuuriki for the completion of the Moon Eye Plan.

In essence of Obito not following to the original plan Madara set out, Madara set-up a sort of "fail-safe" if it came to Obito's defiance of the original plan. You can say he planned ahead.
