Every important battle in Naruto is split in two halves:
1) The physical battle
And 2) The physiological one.

An example of this is Naruto's fight against Pain. Naruto and Pain were battling it out but at the same time Pain questioned Naruto's motives and what he could really achieve. This drove Naruto to talking to Minato about the true answer to peace and how to achieve it. But I believe that Naruto still hasn't found the absolute answer. Obito is questioning Naruto's beliefs and how he would react to losing the friends around him. Naruto may win the physical battle, but if he doesn't get through to Obito on his deathbed then he hasn't really matured.

Which is why I think that similarly to the battle between Naruto and Pain, Obito will drive Naruto to a point, where he will begin to lose hope, but at that time, will meet the Sage who will be glad to meet his new successor. With new found determination Naruto will beat Obito but not before getting his ideals through to him. Obito will accept Naruto's words and if Minato or Kakashi are around then they'll add a few words as well.

People may call this corny, but I actually think that this will be a very mature approach from Kishi.

To be honest it would not surprise me. With all the little banter tests he's given Naruto...REALLY would not surprise me.

Though as far as being defeated once more emotionally...I find it hard to believe. Hinata's ***** slap honestly should have reminded him of how to carry on. But you never know.

If he can't TNJ Obito then it's got nothing to do with Naruto's maturity and everything to do with Obito's stubborness.
