According to the data books, it says in the beginning of Part 1 when he faced off with Kakashi, he and Kakashi were both 26 years old. Something isn't right about that age:
Also according to the data books, Zabuza graduated the academy at age of 9 which was after he murdered his whole class.
Look at this scan right here. Kakashi says 10 years prior to the start of the series, Zabuza as a young boy (and if you look at how he looked he was maybe 8-9 years old), killed over 100 of the students.
Again, the data book says Zabuza was the same age as Kakashi, 26 years old. So, 10 years before the start of the series, he would have been 16 years old when he murdered the class. But that's not possible because he graduated the class at the age of 9 and Kakashi noted before he graduated and wasn't even a Genin, he took 100 other Genin down. Kakashi also notes he was a young boy, so he couldn't have been 16.
So Zabuza at the start of the series would actually be 19 years old; however, the data book contradicts itself.
Thoughts?
