Theory: Were Hashirami and Tobirami resisting Reanimation

In part 1 when they were brought back to fight Hiruzen do you think they resisted the reanimation jutsu to hold back some against thee former apprentice, I find it vey hard to believe that two of the strongest ninja's of there era would have the slightest bit of trouble fighting a elderly old ninja clearly out of his prime. This is just a question I'm not expert on the jutsu that's why I ask.

when brought back in part 1 they were not at full power and were controlled 100 percent by orochimaru.
