I agree. If you have ever watched Code Geass the protagonist did the same. If not: He became an enemy of the empire that controls the world. He then attacked them and overthrew it. Thus he became even more hated. All the worlds hatred was on his shoulders by this point. Then he had his best friend kill him in front of the people. Therefore he died with all the world's hatred.

Madara's goals are good because he is trying to obtain peace. He has just given up hope that humans can obtain it on their own so he wants to force peace himself. His intentions are good but he goes down a nasty path to achieve this goal. Plus this goal takes away free will so...
