It seems that Kishi has a god in mind, but refuses to make it one person. Instead he plants pieces all over the Narutoverse as the answer to one another. The only unanswered god-piece is Itachi's sealing sword. Even Rikudou would have his hands full facing that.

madara- he have edo tensei body as in immortality
nagato- ... he have borrowed rinnegan for madara look what real deal can do, seems like madara have bad plans what u speak of
- rinnegan users can use shinra tensei repeadetly it only shorten life span which is not madara's or obitos style. rinnegan holds much more powers than that
itachi's sealing sword probably is spoils from early senju or sage from himself..
