drawing 18 (actually these days it's usually only 15) pictures in one week is not hard. it's barely any work at all. A normal worker takes 1 day off, but no, WSJ takes off a whole week! and then they expect the fans to just hand over their money to pay for their extravagant vacations. Everyone knows kishi and oda already have the story written out, so they just have to plan a few lines of dialog and have something happen per chapter.

kishi doesn't even check for errors anymore, I mean he put the 4th hokage face in the mountain before the fourth was even the hokage! geez man check your work.

I could probably release a chapter of naruto every 2-3 days. The homestuck guy releases 7-8 pages a DAY and has for several years. Each page is typically animated and has a huge amount of dialog, written at a level far beyond kishi, oda, and other WSJ authors. So why are the WSJ guys so lazy that they need to take 1 week to write a simple 15 pages and then on top of that an extra week off.

I'm assuming most of you guys don't work, so you don't understand why is annoying. The average person works a 40-50 hour work week and could easily produce 40-50 pages in that time.

note that this rant doesn't apply to artists who clearly spend 40-50 hours per week on the art in their manga, such as Yuusuke, who clearly spends an enormous amount of time on making one punch man look fantastic. this is not true for the top ten WSJ artists typically.

I hope it will change the opinions of people who think it is okay for them to take all this time off when they already barely even work.

Are you on crack or something? I'm hoping this is a joke.

Ok, check this. One man is writing the storyboard, drawing the composite and prelim sketches, and his assistance rarely add more than just ink. The extra week is needed to maintain structure. It's not easy to write a coherent story on your own. These mangakas sleep 3 hours a day at best, and most rarely get time with their families. When they aren't working on their manga, they are thinking up ideas for the next chapters, or helping the animation studios with colours and designs. They never slack off.

And 18 pages of solid artwork WITH the story line is not easy. They need to picture the panels perfectly and make that as seamless as possible. Remember they write for the animation studios as well, making sure that each panel can be animated right and can translate over to the next part.

If this job was easy, everybody and their grandmother would be doing it. Those art errors are a clear sign of fatigue.

I could probably release a chapter of naruto every 2-3 days.

Still hoping this is a joke.

it's really easy.

copy the plot of db and dbz into a different setting (native american spirit power for example)

write a few lines of dialog.

draw 15 ok pictures (or better yet pay someone else to draw 15 ok pictures)

done for the week.

how about trying a real job like construction laborer and then tell me being a mangaka is hard.

Post a scan of your latest artwork and I'll accept your claim as legitimate. In fact, please release your version of those chapters on the brilliant timeline you illustrated before.
