Hey guys, here is something to discuss. Can the bringer of darkness genjutsu render a sharingan user blind and unable to see through the genjutsu due to it specifically targeting the eyes?

It is considered a high level genjutsu(A-Rank or higher). I have my doubts, but what do you people think.

If Sasuke can break through Tsukiyomi, then a skilled Uchiha could.

They can but the reason why I made the thread was because the genjutsu specifically targets the eyes. So it could affect the sharingans ability to see anything.

Well, BoD is made of chakra, along with the user. They would blend in, so no, a Sharingan cannot see through it. Think of it like Zabuza's hidden mist jutsu, as Kakashi could not see through it.

Sasuke had more going for him then just being an expert Sharingan user. He required the Senjutsu/Orochimaru's chakra to disrupt his flow and what was earlier stated. Plus, the Genjutsu's work differently. Ya' shouldn't compare the two.

This proves that even MS Sasuke couldn't see in the dark but EMS does! Meaning Only EMS[or seasoned MS i.e. Itachi] can see through BOD i.e. Madara and Sasuke!

Sharingan sees through Genjutsu. BOD is a Genjutsu.

The BOD must be a high level genjutsu, considering Hiruzen wasn't able to break it despite he had 5 points in genjutsu.

I don't know. Because it is a genjutsu, and one that targets the eyes of all things, I'm inclined to say Sharingan breaks it. While I don't think any one could, a skilled enough Uchiha should be able to. But then, considering this is Hashirama and that this is possibly what was used to counter the countless Uchiha he faced, I can't say for sure. For now, I'll just assume a skilled enough Uchiha can break it. Breaking genjutsu is what they were built for. It would feel kinda weird for a genjutsu to be their weakness.

"Perhaps the reason this was created was because Hashi fought Uchiha all the time?"
-My new theory on the subject I'll be writing up soon.
