Cyclops is more than just his ray he is a master martial artist ... It's said he has been able to take on 6 people at once with his eyes closed and held up very well against wolverine and ghost rider.

He's a master at special awareness and is able to bank shots of his rays

Also a master tacticaion and smart... Captain amaercia even admitted that he was best he's ever seen when it comes to strategy..

Mearly blocking his rays wouldn't guarantee his win.

AvX was so biased, no one was fighting to their fullest potential, not even the avengers, and it was FULL of asspulls and things that weren't even there

This is a battle thread with The Avengers vs The X-Men. Here are the lineups.

Lineup!:

1. Captain America vs Cyclops(People often think that cyclop's beam of concussive force is 'heat', no it's 'heatless', it's more like a 'hole' that sends what ever it makes contact with into a different dimension.Cyclops can beat in long range, and short-hand combat)

2. Iron Man vs Magneto( Don't be ridiculous, he can easily reverse any attack he throws at him, not only that, Magneto can control your magnetic aura, something everything that breaths, has.)

3. Daredevil vs Wolverine(Again, don't be a simpleton, Wolverine couldn't even be killed by Phoenix. Not only that, he's FAR more battle experienced than daredevil. Don't forget he can regenerate, and has adamantium(?) bones. Defeating him is virtually impossible, unless you're magneto or polaris.

4. Hulk vs Juggernaut(Sorry, but this is only because Juggernaut can build up impenetrable momentum, that's revered as unstoppable. Not only that, he has armor, and has better judgement than Hulk)

5. Thor vs Storm( Storm's ability is more convenient, mainly because she doesn't require a hammer or a deity to use her powers. Also, she can use her powers on a much larger scale)

6. Black Panther vs Beast: ( Beast is much stronger,better reflexes, agility, but Black Panther has several gadgets that could possibly immobilize him in long range combat. Long range goes to Black Panther, but close hand-to-hand combat definitely goes to Beast!)

7. Spider-Man vs Gambit: (Although gambit is my favorite character, he may not win this one. Spider man can easily use his spider web and prevent Gambit's kinetic energy-stored cards from exploding anywhere near him, rendering them useless. Let's not forget Spider man has keen senses, reflexes, agile, flexibility, and increased healing, so he would also win in hand to hand )combat.

8. Falcon vs Angel: (Not too familiar with Falcon, but i just did research. Falcon can do more than just fly, he can also communicate with other aerial creatures(except bats), he can easily summon them to attack angel, giving falcon the upper hand. All angel can do is expend feathers, fly, and withstand strong winds.although he's much faster in flying and his wings can be used as weapons, so on one on one he would win. So either victory depends solely on simple circumstances.)

Well for starters hank is extremely smart and analycal. He was also trained by professor x in hand to hand then later trained by captain America who also helped him with gymnastics. He's is more of a free fighter like spiderman where as they are all over the place. It's also said that beast has been able to lift 10 tons... To I think he could would win especially if he became angered and went crazy.

His speed can easily be slowed with Storm's powerful wind. Once storm removes Thors hammer, and freezes his mouth shut, what will he have? How can he immobilize Storm if she's in the air, spamming Tornado-thunderstorms and blizzards on a planetary level? Exactly...
