I live in a college town, and school starts next week. Every time I drive my car it feels like their is a cop car on every corner, literally. I know I live around 0.25 miles away from the fraternities, but it's ridiculous. If sorta feels like,

Well if you live in a college town, expect lots of police officers. They're there to stop drunk driving and bust people for weed.

Just don't give them a reason to mess with you and they won't. Make sure all your lights work and use your turn signals.

Many college campuses, esp. universities like mine, have their own PD (Police Department). Whether its campus police or security, they're just doing their job, nothing more really. Lots of shit happens in the dorms and parking garages/lots.. Believe it or not rape is a pretty big issue, esp. when young females leave their night classes and make the long walks back to there cars, and yeh many campuses are open to the public and literally anyone could walk in. How do i know this? Happened a few times already during my 5 years at the University, now they have tons of "Emergency call boxes" posted everywhere around campus. Campus police are there for your safety so you shouldn't be worried at all. They're more friendly then normal cops and some might even be students, but those will most likely be on foot walking around campus.
