The Roman Empire? Perhaps, but they are the Roman Empire at its end. If need be, the Skyrim under the true High King shall be the Germanic tribes that destroy the Roman Empire.

There are 9 provinces of Tamriel. In Oblivion, the Empire controls 9 provinces. By the time of the beginning of Skyrim, do you know many provinces are held by the Empire? 2 1/2 at most. If the Empire hasn't fallen already, which it has, it's time to fall now.
But the Empire is not the true enemy. The Thalmor are.
Would you want to live as a slave to High Elves? Or would you want to fight the Thalmor? The Empire is corrupt and lazy, the Stormcloaks not only fight for Skyrim, but for all of mankind.

Where as the Imperials have the class, elegence of the Romans......... Well, the order of it. It seems. I mean, would you rather play as the people who represent/are a reflection of those who conquered the Mediterranean? Or simply those who raided a shit ton and LOST to Native Americans when they tried to colonize North America.

Romans of course. Don't hate on the Imperials just 'cause they're better!

Imperials= Tamriel's freedom Not to mention Storm Cloaks are too brutish , i prefer the suave that comes with being a one hander ...As a mage i would think you would hate the nords who despise you?

:l...... **** Skyrim. **** Elder Scrolls. NO ONE beats the Romans but three hundred years of corruption, a few thousand barbarian tribes, a few generations of poor leaders and buying off mercenaries to fight for your empire instead. Oh, and religious feuds that cause the empire to split in two!


Plus, high elves are pussies.... God damn Kael is proof of that.... Watch no one get that and I feel like a nerd :l

Skyrim's freedom now, but Tamriel in the future.

The Empire, at this point in Skyrim, is nothing but the catalyst for the Thalmor's will.

And I'm not just a mage, that's just my current guy. I've had lvls 75-85 of just about every class.

They should of made it a fullscale battle XD..

Anyway's not really the empire had to obey or else Skyrim would of been obliterated U_U Not to mention The SC's discriminate any other Race except their own.. Which is the one thing i hate..seeing as i'm a minority myself (argonian)

The current leader, while not poor, is subpar compared to the old leaders.
And there is a huge religious feud in the Empire.
Oblivion takes place in the Empire's time, Skyrim takes place in the Empire's fall U_U

Yeah, the final battle either way lacked... Intensity.

Stormcloaks don't discriminate. Any race can join, and there High Elves and Dark Elves in the upper class district of Windhelm. The Argonians came into a Nord city expecting they would be given the fluffy treatment as if they were in the Imperial City. Nope. To get by in Nordville you have to work. A few newcomers saw this and they get along fine, the others didnt like it started complaining instead fixing the problem through their own work.
