When the Hokages were resurrected, the first instance of Minato expressing regret was over the Uchiha Massacre. "If I had lived, maybe I could've stopped the Uchiha's coup d'etat in a different way."
"If you were alive I would've liked you to become Hokage."
"If I'd realized that time that he was Obito, maybe I would've been able to stop him...! And maybe Kushina wouldn't have died. Maybe Naruto wouldn't have had to become the kyuubi's jinchuuriki...!""
It's known that an autonomous edo tensei can be released when the individual finds closure.
I think that all of these "what-ifs" that Minato is expressing is a set-up to prepare us for a closure sort of demise. He'll discover that even though he feels completely responsible for the whole entire world turning to shit, his own son who has to fix it holds it 0% against him.
So my theory is that he will survive the battle at least until the Obito thing is resolved and he no longer has any regrets due to being loved by the person who matters the most, his own son, and probably Kakashi. Knowing that Kakashi, one of his own students, doesn't hold anything against him also wouldn't hurt to know too.
