I might not be onto anything, but isn't Kakashi in the same position madara was in when he supposedly awakened his rinnegan? Near death, left to die in front of his best friend turned worst foe? I mean, I know Kakashi doesn't have ems, but as far as we know, you don't necesarily need ems to get to rinnegan. We did in fact see Kakashi go from 2 tomoe to ms, right? I'm overlooking the whole bloodline factor, but it would make sense to me if he got it, used it, then died sentimentally.

edit: Kakashi is currently witnessing obito fighting for control with the juubi, since obito pulled it into the kamui dimension. He's probably right in front of obito just dying and asking why

I can see him getting the rinnegan since his eye will soon go blind. Maybe Obito will come to his senses and give it to him when he ends up getting smashed. I doubt he will get it like Madara did though.

I view kakashi as much of a scrub as any of you... If anything, I'm foreseeing plot-no-asspull.

I think sasuke will sooner or later, but not in this arc. & Naruto w/ ocular powers is just plot, but what isn't with naruto? **Ch. 642: A Rasengan can kill juubito**

you said it best- like madara. he needs senju DNA, and if possible, it'll be from that frienemy right in front of him.

the fact is that kishi might be planning something with kakashi but i guess its not rinnegan... the limited chakra of kakashi would cause his death immediately after he uses the rinnegan...
