How do I determine the amount of pixels in a selected area?

Simple question, thanks.

Past the image into paint, then use the crop function to remove the white background so you only have the picture, then read the pixel count at the bottom like so!

You must be registered for see images

I am not asking to find the amount of pixels in the entire image, I'm asking for in a selected area.

A selected area in a picture? you can still use the crop toll, and it will show you how many pixels that is in the crop space?
