Share your odd experiences at work.

A few moments I remember:

When working at a restaurant 5 years ago, I was managing the Thai wok department.

- This german guy refused to talk english or even try to speak a Dutch word and just kept talking in german to me with a smug expression that expected me to understand him. He stood there for a while as the line of waiting customers behind him grew. xD

- A guy walked in, took a bite of one of our sandwiches in the display, put it back and then left the building like nothing happened.

When working at a chinese restaurant:

- The assistant manager had an attitude towards me from day one. I did, and I'm 100%, I did nothing to be obset about in the 6 months that I worked there. Always kept my cool in front of those disrespectful, distant chinese mofos.
So, one day I asked the assistant manager to sign the schedule agreement for me. She then started to yell at me in front of customers, stumbling over her tongue as she tried to find a legit reason to be angry at me. I just stood there for a while and left. Later on, I heard she got corrected by any other employee over there. I know I'm generalizing, but I have 3 other friends who all worked at different chinese restaurants and they all had bad experiences having to deal with anxious, disrespectfull co-staff.

When working at a construction site (which I hated)

- Meeting the strangest guys. One was a ex-cocaine dealer, eager to show me pictures of his guns at home.
The other was younger than me, and told me he'd been in nearly every city of Holland visiting prostitutes.
Another one smelled so bad I felt a heat wave of stench against my face when sitting next to him in the car.

When working at a store

- A guy came in, asking me how to print photos so I helped him.
A noticed the pictures and he showed me them with pride. He showed me pics of 6 container bags filled with marijuana. Damn. As he tried to flirt with my colleges, (I was the only guy at the store) he was ignored. He then proceeded to call them lesbians as he walked away.

Oh god...So I work in a hospital. I was a janitor before I became and LPN I have sooo many stories.

-One time I was assigned to clean the ER after surgery. I walked in being the child I was back then expecting it to be decent looking like what you see in TV shows you know? WRONG. Blood, Pus and shit everywhere!! So I suck it up and proceed to walk in. I'm carrying my cleaning supplies and the next thing I know. BAM I slip in fall and land in some blood... I started crying hysterically cuz I was scared I was gonna get AIDS. I shit you not I will NEVER do that again.

The oddest (and most awkward) experience was just recently where I walked into the bathroom and two girls were getting it down in the handicap stall :|

I worked at Little Caesars (I am 17 now) and if you do not know it is a Pizza place. Anyways, every day after work, an idiot that usually was on my shift when I closed egged and pizza'd (throwing eggs or pepperoni pizza's on cars) all the cars in the customer parkinglot. One night, someone saw my co-worker pizzaing a car and beat the living shit out of him.

This happened when I was younger.

A mother was being placed in the examination room attached to an Oxytocin drip, and her baby has been about 3 days dead? Anyway, the doctor had already told her of the unfortunate event and the purpose of the oxytocin to induce labor of the dead baby, and had given her time to cope with it. She had been attached to it for a few hours before I came in. It was the start of my shift and me and another colleague were just trying to change to our scrub suits. Then we heard a cry that "the baby is coming."

So yeah, me and her went hurriedly into the room, and there she was, we could see the hair. We opened and prepared the needed materials, donned gloves. We agreed that I will hold the perineum while she holds the baby's head. We kept encouraging and encouraging the mother, cheered for her that she's doing great and she should push out some more, and yeah, she did.

When the head finally came out, so did a large amount of brown amniotic fluid. And with all her pushing and the oxytocin, fluids squirted all over me and my colleague. We were drenched head to toe with a dead baby's amniotic fluid and blood. I could even taste it in my mask, feel it dripping in my face and stinging my eyes, and it even went inside my gloves and soaked my hands. The scrubs were painted with dark brown. My friend drank some of it because she was talking at that time. The mother said she was really sorry, and she decided for our good deed of handling a dead baby she named the baby after us.

The doctors were appalled to find us both drenched and bloody and smelling really really bad.
