Kabuto couldn't find his body...? and let's face it... his body should've started floating after a few days in the water... not gone all the way to the buttom to stay there... Kabuto must've just missed him... someone else must've taken his body before Kabuto got there... (if he did die)

seriously though... what if Jiraiya "died" at that river/sea/ocean or whatever... but actually survived?

just what IF...? what would you think of that?

not being brought back as an Edo, i'm talking the real thing here... he SURVIVED and will be attending the war sooner or later?

Jiraiya was swimming across the ocean underwater when entering the city where Nagato was...
he could just've used last chakra to create that Frog stomache jutsu... and stayed there for awhile...? idk... my thread was about what people would think of Jiraiya coming back ALIVE and not as an Edo...

I don't know. I do find it kind of suspicious that there are plotted excuses for why his body was never recovered nor confirmed to be dead. All we were able to see has him sinking to the bottom of the ocean thinking about his next book but never saw him just being dead. It's kinda like Kishi wanted all his readers to just assume he is dead although no one can say with absolute certainty. Even Pain left without confirming.
